At Marcus Aurelio Jiu Jitsu Academy we teach a martial art, combat sport, and self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.
Our Jiu Jitsu program promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat your opponent.
We offer three levels of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training to ensure that our students get the attention and instruction they need to continue to grow and improve. Our BJJ fundamentals program is based off of the original curriculum of Grandmaster Helio Gracie, which was created to prepare individuals in the self defense techniques and core basics of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. From there you move on to our Intermediate and Advanced classes that will continue your journey with more advanced and challenging techniques.
We instruct students of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds and abilities each aspiring to attain their own personal training goals.  The class learning environment is respectful, focused, and spirited. The more experienced students regularly help the beginners learn and grow.
